Cognizant Promotes Six Women to Senior Vice President Positions, Boosting Leadership Diversity

On July 19, Cognizant revealed the elevation of six women to Senior Vice President roles, marking a pivotal step towards increasing diversity within the company’s executive ranks. This initiative highlights Cognizant’s dedication to cultivating a diverse leadership culture, a sentiment echoed by CEO Ravi Kumar S. He remarked, “These announcements are a collective reason for celebration. Promoting diversity must be ingrained in our fabric, influencing every aspect of our operations from recruitment and hiring to development, promotion, engagement, and retention of talent.” 

Elisa de Rocca-Serra, who became a member of Cognizant in 2021, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, EMEA General Counsel, and Contract Lifecycle Risk Management (CLRM). In this enhanced capacity, de Rocca-Serra will manage the commercial risk associated with the client contract lifecycle, aiming to improve operational and financial results. 

Thea Hayden, a Cognizant team member since 2020, is now the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing. In this role, Hayden leads an integrated marketing and digital experience team responsible for creating engaging content and managing brand design, creative services, social media, thought leadership, and research initiatives to attract a global audience. 

Patricia (Trish) Hunter-Dennehy has taken on the position of Senior Vice President of the Healthcare Provider/Payor Business Unit. Hunter-Dennehy will oversee revenue cycle management, clearinghouse operations, and healthcare systems management in the U.S., playing a vital role in both healthcare delivery and operations management, bolstered by her extensive experience since she joined Cognizant in 2015 after the acquisition of TriZetto. 

Sailaja Josyula has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Intuitive Operations & Automation (IOA) for the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. Along with being the Hyderabad Centre Head, Josyula will manage commercial markets in North America and global delivery, as Hyderabad serves as Cognizant’s second largest delivery center, employing over 56,000 individuals. 

Archana Ramanakumar rejoined Cognizant on July 5 as Senior Vice President of the Industry Solutions Group (ISG), bringing a wealth of experience from prior positions at LTI and LTI Mindtree. Ramanakumar’s return continues her legacy that began with her initial tenure at Cognizant in 1996. 

Sandra Notardonato, who stepped into the role of Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Alliances on July 17, previously held the position of senior equities analyst at Gartner for 15 years and has had roles in other professional services firms over an 11-year period. 

These appointments represent a crucial advancement in enhancing diversity and representation in Cognizant’s leadership, aligning with the company’s broader strategic aims.
